Eligibility :
MBBS, MD/MS, Diploma :
To be eligible for admission into M.B.B.S course, the candidate should have passed the qualifying examination PUC or 10+2 equivalent examination recognized by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, having secured not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in PCB taken together. (40% in case of SC/ST)
Merit for selection is decided by the entrance (KCET/ COMEDK) examination result where in a minimum of 50% marks are mandatory. However in respect of SC/ST candidates the minimum percentage of marks required is 40% instead of 50%.
Age Criteria : Candidate should have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the year of admission. Candidates from outside Karnataka State must get eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. Candidates of minority status should have Tulu speaking certificate from appropriate authorities.
Migration : Migration from one Medical College to another college after admission is generally not permitted and the Medical Council of India is the final authority to permit such change which considers only exceptional situations.
For Non-Karnataka & CBSE (10+2) Candidates : Candidates who has completed 10+12 from CBSE Board & Non Karnataka Students should secure Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore before admission process and students who have completed 10+12 other than in India should apply for Foreign Eligibility Certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore before admission process. Degree / Diploma Programs :
As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State.
Candidates must meet all requirements stipulated by Medical Council of India, New Delhi. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their MBBS from an institution recognized by Medical Council of India and must have completed or completing their internship by 30th April of that calendar year.
Hostels :
Hostels for boys and girls in the vicinity of the hospital and college, suitable timings for library, well tailored timings for classes and studies, facilities for outdoor and indoor games, museum facilities, outlets for extra curricular activities which are allowed at an austere level, all enable the student to take on the burden of the medical curriculum in a balanced manner.The campus restricts to a fully vegetarian menu and offers freedom from the need to keep motorcycles/cars thereby obviating the anxieties of parents
