HC Asks Authority to Take Decision on Disputed Questions in CLAT 2015

MUMBAI:
The Bombay high court on Thursday directed the authority which conducts the Common Law Admission Test to take a decision on disputed questions in the 2015 examination paper. A division bench of Justice Anoop Mohta and Justice V L Achliya asked the convenor of CLAT 2015 to consult its expert panel for the correctness of answers in the model key to seven questions which had been disputed by a Mumbai-based student.

Shubham Gupta, the petitioner, had appeared for CLAT 2015 for which results were declared on May 20. He secured a rank of 258. The convenor constituted an expert panel following complaints received from students about the model answer key. The panel found problems with two questions and their answers.

When the marks were modified as per the expert panel's recommendations, Shubham's rank dropped from 258 to 278. He approached the HC saying similar problems with seven other questions were not considered by the expert panel. The CLAT are all India entrance examination conducted on rotation by 16 National Law Universities for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LLB & LLM)
