GIACR is located at Rayagada, the District headquarter town, amidst lust green valleys skirted by river Nagavali where nature has been bountiful with exotic flora and founa all around. Rayagada has in its vicinity the famous J. K. Paper Mills, IMFA, NALCO, HAL and the proposed Alumina Projects Utkal Alumina International Ltd. by HINDALCO, Vedanta Alumina by STERLITE, besides a host of small & medium industries. Rayagada is a fast growing industrial town of South Orissa. The major industries in the vicinity help and provide practical training to our students. Rayagada is directly connected with major cities of the Country like New Delhi, Chennai, Kolakata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Raipur, Tata, Ranchi, Rourkela, Nagpur etc. by rail and road.

Infrastructure :

• Library : The Air conditioned Central Library contains 25000 volumes and 1200 titles to fulfil the needs of the students. Students are encouraged to avail the facilities round the clock from the Central library. Also every department maintains its own departmental library. The Central Library subscribing many number of National & International journals and magazines on different areas.
• Internet : GIACR is providing internet facility to its students and staff through a high speed 20 mbps connection from Vodafone & BSNL. 150 numbers of computers are connected to internet in different buildings, which are connected through Optical fibre backbone. The whole network is managed through managed switches, high end proxy servers and firewall. The College campus is connected through high speed Wi-Fi network. Students are allowed to access internet through their laptops round the clock.
• Garden : A beautiful garden, Cool parlour make it relaxing for students to spend their leisure time.
• Transport : A fleet of 15 buses round the clock take care of the transport needs of the students and staff.
• Sports/ Games : The institute has beautifully maintained fields for playing Cricket, Basket ball, Base ball including many indoor games.
• Hostels : Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with excellent catering facilities at affordable rates, are provided. Discipline is the catch word in these student-friendly abodes. Superintendents look after the boarders acting as friends, philosophers and guides to the boarders. A medical officer is specially appointed to take care of health of the students.

Eligibility :

For Admission to First Year Bachelor Programme in Engineering/ Technology : Passed or appearing in 2012, 10+2 examination of CHSE, Odisha or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the subjects from Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science / Information Technology / Geology / Statistics. The candidate should have passed individual subject and must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST category) in the above subjects taken together.
