Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) stands as a synonym for quality education in the Heritage city of Mysore. VVS was established in 1949 by great visionaries namely Late Sahukar Channaiah and Late. K. Puttaswamy (Former Minister of Karnataka) to impart quality education to all sections of the society. There are ten educational institutions starting from nursery to engineering college under the aegis of VVS. At present, Sangha is under the able guidance and leadership of Sri Gundappa Gowda, President and Sri P. Vishwanath, Secretary.Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, popularly referred as VVCE, is one of the most prestigious engineering colleges in Karnataka. Established in 1997, VVCE has grown in leaps and bounds. VVCE is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and recognized by Govt. of Karnataka. VVCE functions through its Board of Governors constituted as per AICTE guidelines. The college is under the able leadership of Dr. B. Sadashive Gowda as Principal, who has rich experience in industry and education field both in India and abroad.

VVCE has a vision to become a centre of excellence in technical and management education. The campus is fully equipped with six research centers providing opportunity to work in frontier areas of technology. Faculty are well qualified, experienced and have great passion for teaching & learning. The faculties provide conducive learning environment empowering students with cutting edge knowledge. The learning environment includes technical seminars; projects, industry visits, entrepreneurial trainings, group discussions besides conventional teaching. The college has taken stringent measures as per AICTE norms to prevent any incidence of ragging.VVCE has proved itself as one of the best colleges for technical and management education in Karnataka.  

Library : The Library in Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering was established in the year 1997. Library, being the heart of an institution, is the centre of all activities in the campus. Situated in the Ground floor of the building covering an area of 890 sq. Mts. and where both lending facilities and reference section in the Ground floor.The library is developed and enriched with great care. It has a collection of 34,622books with 7,060 titles. Library subscribes to around 67 printed journals. All documents have been classified as per AACR II of Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) and systematically shelved on Open Access.Library has a reading capacity of 210 seats. Main library is automated and daily library operations are Acquisition, Cataloguing, Serial control, Circulation, OPAC. Library has Wi-Fi connection and has a server with 25 PCs, 3 printers and a scanner and one copier. Library is also a member of DELNET.

Training and placement :

• VVCE continues to impart quality education with a goal to create “engineers” with strong technical knowledge and has been successful in preparing students to industry standards. The Training and Placement department (TAP) of VVCE fosters the best training programs with a view to equip both UG and PG students with necessary skill set such as aptitude and problem solving skills, interview skills and soft skills required by the industry and assist them to draw their career path. A full-fledged department with excellent infrastructure like well equipped seminar halls, individual interview panel rooms, group discussion rooms, facilities for online tests supports every stage of the placement process and also the training activities.
• The Training and Placement department (TAP) is an integral part of VVCE connecting students of BE, MTech and MBA, and also the faculty members of all the departments. The department works in close co-ordination with Department Placement Coordinators (DPC), comprising of both students and faculty members chosen from individual departments.
• TAP dept strives to connect industry and institute through various programs such as student internships, industrial training, industry visit, technical talk by industry delegates and many more. The dept is in close association with various reputed companies and continues to coordinate with esteemed recruiters to enhance placements at VVCE.
• When it say we impart education with a purpose, it mean that they wish to prepare our students, that the industry likes to absorb. The placement Centre provides and arranges programs on career guidance, aptitude tests, mock interviews and group discussions to assist students chalk out a career path.
• The center is in touch with many hardware, software companies, mechanical and information technology industries for placement of potential candidates. We work on a industry-feedback methodology, where the industry gives us feedback on the performance of our earlier students, and which in turn, is used to modify the existing teaching practices.
