Realizing the increasing need of pharmacist in the society and industry, College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, puri has been established in 1986. Since its establishment the College has grown to become one of the leading pharmacy college in the State of Odisha.College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Puri conducts D. Pharm, B. Pharm. and M. Pharm Programmes which are affiliated to Biju Pattanaik University of Technology (BPUT). The courses are approved by all India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi which is the apex body controlling technical education in the country. At College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Puri D. Pharm and B. Pharm Programmes have the approval of Pharmacy Council of India. Recognition by these regulatory bodies bears testimony to the high standards of infrastructure and academic excellence prevailing in this college. The proximity of the college to many pharmaceutical Industiries in the Kolkata, Goa, Baddi, Hyderabad etc. helps students in training and placements. We are committed to creating a community which is vibrant and which provides a lifelong experience and develop professional skill.

 

Infrastructure :

  • Laboratories : The college has spacious, well equipped and well maintained laboratories for different branches of Pharmacy viz. Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Microbiology, Computer Education. Separate research laboratories have been provided for post-graduate student.
  • Machine Room : In machine Room mixers, dryers mills, homogenizers, Rotary tables press, tablet creating machine, stability cabinets, six basket dissolution apparatus & disintegration test apparatus and other equipment for manufacture and in process quality control of pharmaceutical formulations are available.
  • Analytical Instrument Room : The Analytical Instrument Room house modern analytical Instruments like Dual beam UV–Visible spectrophotometer, Colorimeter, Karl Fischer titrator, pH meter, Conductivity meter, Fluorimeter, Flame Photometer, Turbidity meter, Electrophoresis and many more are available.
  • Computer Room : The computer room houses provided for advanced computers with internet connection a number of relevant softwares and programmes required by the undergraduate and post graduate students.
  • Class Rooms : The class rooms are specious and provided with audio visual teaching aids like LCD and over head projectors.
  • Library : The importance of an excellent library in an educational institution can hardly be over-stated. Being the reservoir of knowledge and information, the library has been updated with new titles, latest editions and subscriptions to national and international journals. It can be proudly mentioned that to date our library stocks over 4000 books including the complete set of pharmaceutical Encyclopedia and the prestigious Marcel Dekker series. Having subscribed to 20 national and international journals, the college has plans to begin a digital library in the near future.
  • Hostel : The College has separate hostel for Girls and Boys with spacious and adequately furnished rooms. Students can feel at home in these hostel which have a good mess.
  • Transportation : Since the institution is located on the Puri-Konark Marine Drive Road, so it provides bus facilities to both staff & students for convenience.
  • Canteen : The Institute provides canteen facility in the campus. Canteen serves tea/snacks/lunch to the students & staffs as per their need.

Eligibility :

 

For D. Pharm : Students who have passed in HSC (10 +2Sc) level or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

 

For B. Pharm : a Minimum of 45% marks at the CHSE (10+2 Science) level or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as compulsory subjects. For backward class candidates, the minimum requirement is 40% marks.Diploma Holders who have passed the Diploma course in Pharmacy approved by PCI or its equivalent with min 45 % (for SC/ST 40%) marks can directly take admission to the Second year.

 

For M. Pharm : Students who have passed B. Pharm with minimum 45% marks from approved college only are eligible for admission to M. Pharm.

 

Admission procedure :  

  • Admissions are made on merit basis for G-PAT/PGAT qualified candidates.
  • NRI Admission Procedure: Students seeking admission under NRI quota can contact the college management at the Campus during office hours. Reservation for Defense/Physically handicapped/Female/SC/ST/OBC etc. will be according to Governments norms.

Fee Structure:

 

Tuition Fees - Rs.55,000/- per year(Excluding Examination Fees)

 

Training and placement :

 

The students have to undergo a one month industrial Training as a part of the curriculum. To help students with this, the college has a Training cell which co-ordinates with the students so as to enable them to get training in the best of industries. The Placement cell of the college organizes campus interviews, publishes placement brochures, keeps track of job opportunities and in general helps the students find the first step in their ladder of.
