Established in 1947 by  the KLE Society, BVBCET has achieved an enviable status due to a strong emphasis on academic and technical excellence. From a modest beginning with the college offering only Undergraduate program in civil engineering, the college has indeed come a long way with the college now offering 12 UG and 8 PG programs affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and accredited by NBA. Current annual student intake for Undergraduate & Post Graduate programs is more than 1200. The continuous and painstaking endeavors and commitment towards education and scholarly activities of the extremely qualified and dedicated academicians and faculty members has resulted into college gaining Autonomous Status from the University and UGC.

Admission Process:

For B.E/ B.Arch: Admisssion for students are governed by the rules and regulations of Karnataka Examination authority and Director of Technical Education, Bengaluru. Students willing to join under any of the Quota must have any one rank secured by them in CET (Karnataka) or Comed K exam or JEE at all India level.Students willing to take admission to B.Arch. have to appear for online test conducted by Council of Architecture  (NATA) arranged in the department of Architecture in College.

For M.Tech: The admission of M.Tech programs are done through the entrance test conducted by the Visvesvaraya Technological University .

For MBA/ MCA: Candidates seeking admission for MBA & MCA programs should appear for KMAT.

For M.Sc (Engg) / Ph.D : The admissions for these research programs are done according to the respective rules framed by the Visveswaraya Technological University , Belgaum.
