Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET), believes in kindling the spirit of this unique and creative discipline in every student who enters its portals. Established in 1947 by  the KLE Society, BVBCET has achieved an enviable status due to a strong emphasis on academic and technical excellence. From a modest beginning with the college offering only Undergraduate program in civil engineering, the college has indeed come a long way with the college now offering 12 UG and 8 PG programs affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum and is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and accredited by NBA. Current annual student intake for Undergraduate & Post Graduate programs is more than 1200. The continuous and painstaking endeavors and commitment towards education and scholarly activities of the extremely qualified and dedicated academicians and faculty members has resulted into college gaining Autonomous Status from the University and UGC.

 

The college has adopted Outcome Based Education (OBE) framework which catalyzes the curriculum to the needs of the industry and the society. An innovative pedagogical practice in the teaching learning processes forms the academic ecosystem of the institution. The active involvement of faculty in research has led to the recognition of 13 research centers by the University. Eligibility:

 

For BE: Students who have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/ 12th Std,/ 10+2 / Intermediate or equivalent exam with Physics & Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Computer Science / Biology and any other optional subject with English as one of the languages of study and should have obtained a minimum of 45% marks. For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 40% in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test / Comed-K/ AIEEE.

 

For M.Tech:

  • Computer Network Engg: Students who have passed BE in CSE / ISE / ECE / E&TE or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.
  • Computer Science & Engg: Students who have passed BE in CSE / ISE or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & 45% For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.
  • Digital Electronics: Students who have passed BE in ECE/ TCE/ EEE/ E&IE/ IT/ ET/ Bio-medical Engg., / Medical Electronics or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.
  • VLSI Design & Embedded Systems: Students who have passed BE in EEE/ ECE/ Electronics in Instrumentation Engg., / Instrumentation Technology / Electronics & Telecommunication / Bio-Medical Engg., / Medical Electronics or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.
  • Design Engineering: Students who have passed BE in ME / IP/ Automobile Engg., or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.
  • Power Electronics: Students who have passed BE in EEE/ ECE/ Electronics in Instrumentation Engg., / Instrumentation Technology / Electronics & Telecommunication / Bio-Medical Engg., / Medical Electronics / TCE or equivalent degree, AMIE in appropriate branch with an aggregate 50% & For SC/ST & other backward classes of Karnataka students only, the minimum marks is 45%, GATE in ECE/IT/EEE or PGCET compulsory.

For MBA: Students who have passed the Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding-off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Category I, the aggregate percent of marks of all the years of the qualifying examination shall not be less than forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off of aggregate percent is not permitted). The Students have to take the entrance test conducted by the PGCET-2015 for MBA/ MCA and Admission are counseled for 50% of the seats from PGCET & remaining 50% will be admitted by the institute for the students, who have attended & qualified in the “K-MAT / PGCET / MAT / CAT 2015” Entrance Test.

 
For MCA:
Students who have passed Bachelor degree with not less than fifty percent i.e. integer 50% (rounding-off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations with Mathematics or Statistics or Computer Science or Computer Programming or Computer Applications or Business Mathematics or Business Statistics as one of the optional or elective at Degree Level. However in the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC / ST and Cat-I, forty five percent i.e. integer 45% (rounding -off of aggregate percent is not permitted) of marks in that subject shall be considered for Admission. The Students have to take the entrance test conducted by the PGCET-2015 for MBA/ MCA and Admission are counseled for 50% of the seats from PGCET & remaining 50% will be admitted by the institute for the students, who have attended & qualified in the “K-MAT / PGCET / MAT / CAT 2015” Entrance Test.

 

Admission Process:

 

The candidate after getting allotment of seat through CET/COMED-K/Management he/she has to approach the Admission Section complete the admission formalities with the following:

  • Allotment letter
  • Original SSLC/SSC/10th/PUC/12th Marks Card and Transfer Certificate
  • Original Study and Conduct Certificate
  • Original Caste Certificate / Income Certificate, if applicable
  • Original Migration Certificate, if applicable
  • Two sets of photo copies of all the above along with 8 passport size photos
  • College Fees, as applicable.
  • The candidate will be allotted a section, either in Chemistry Group or Physics Group and the same is notified on the Notice Board at the beginning of the semester
  • The sections allotted to the students have to be followed and no change of sections is allowed under any circumstances.

Facilities: 

 

Hostel: Hostel Accommodation Accommodating over 1200 students, both boys and girls, with well-furnished hostels, modern facilities and a good ambience, along with hygienic, nutritious from the kitchen, 24/7, says it all about the BITM's student friendly accommodation. With a separate Mess for Boys and Girls, "Come, feel at Home", seems to be a phrase that BITM stands by, with parental care provided by the Wardens. Both the Boys' and Girls' hostels are located within the campus. The girls' hostel can house 450 students. Residential Wardens look into the day-to-day affairs, and the hostel committee takes policy decisions.  Drinking and smoking, in the hostel premises are strictly prohibited and late night entries are not permitted. Carrying an identity card is mandatory in the institute and outsiders are strictly not allowed.

 

Library: The Central library encourages every user to use the library to his/her advantage.  At present the library has 83,087, Volumes and 7379 Titles of books. There are 86 National and 65 International hard copies of the journals. The library also subscribes the E-Resources with Online: IEEE (ASPP), Wiley Blackwell, Springer, McGraw Hill, J-GATE, Elsevier, ASTM Digital Library (DL), Online Version MANAGEMENT: J-Gate, RMIT. The library comprises of reference section, journal section, socially weaker section, stack area, audio-visual section, book bank, periodical section, reprographic section and internet and digital library section. The library has a unique scheme of book bank, which will provide a set of books prescribed by the VTU for entire course. Every effort is made to obtain all titles recommended by the faculty. All the library transactions are computerized. BITM library follows the open access system encouraging the user to browse freely in the stack area. The library is housed in a spacious block with an area of 1644 Sqm.
