The institution started functioning in 2001 with the monumental objective of promoting academic excellence and competence in students, especially in the fast-growing global domain of Engineering Technology and Management. This renowned college is managed under the National Education Foundation, a trust dedicated to the cause of imparting quality education.

We are committed to the ideals which we preserve and believe in. GAT has been a forerunner and prime mover in imparting technical education in Bangalore, India. Affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, the self financing Engineering college has grown by leaps and bounds since its inception in 2001. GAT is nested in the midst of nature which further enhances overall growth across the entire loci.

Eligibility:

For B.E: A pass in P.U.C in Karnataka or in any other State Boards or A Pass in XII Standard of CBSE or any other equivalent examination. An average of minimum of 45 % marks in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or Elecronics or Computer Science.  Should have appeared for any one or more of the following Entrance Examination CET OR COMEDK and must have valid rank declared.

For M.Tech: A candidate who has passed prescribed qualifying examination or equivalent examination and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects in all the years is eligible for admission to  M. Tech program. 45% of marks in case of SC, ST and Category-I candidates.

For MBA: Candidate who has passed Recognised Bachelor’s Degree (like BBA, B.Com, BA, BSc etc..) of minimum of 3 years duration examination or equivalent examination or higher Degree like B.E., M.Tech, ME etc..and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks taken together in all the subjects including languages in all the years of the Degree Examination is eligible for admission to MBA courses. (45% of marks in Q. E. in case of SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka candidates). Must have a valid PGCET score/rank.

For Ph.D: A Candidate shall have obtained minimum of 60% or equivalent Grade in either at Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree examinations as considered for the declaration of Class/Grade by the concerned University. However, a relaxation to the extent of 10% shall be allowed for :

• a) Candidates belonging to SC/ST and any other category as notified by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
• b) Candidates with a minimum of five years experience either in teaching or research, subject to the provisions of these Regulations.

For MSc(Engg): Admission to the M.Sc.(Engg) by Research is open to candidates who have passed B.E./B.Tech. Examination of VTU or B.E./B.Tech. of any other recognized University, recognized by this University as equivalent thereto and have passed the prescribed qualifying examination with not less than 60% of the marks in the aggregate, in the examinations of the semesters considered for the declaration of class/grade. However, a relaxation to the extent of 10% shall be allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST and any other category as notified by Government of Karnataka from time to time. 

 Facilities:

Hostel: "A Home away from Home" perfectly describes the hostel life @GAT. Exclusive and separate Wi-Fi enabled hostels for boys & girls with all modern amenities and well ventilated, furnished and spacious, twin sharing rooms await the students seeking hostel admission @GAT. The hostels are equipped with ultra modern and hygienic kitchen, which provides nutritious & healthy vegetarian & non-vegetarian food of students choice. A prefect system managed by students is in place to look into the needs of the hostel inmates.

Hostel provides an ambience with homely care wherein day-to-day interaction with the inmates is done by the manager, warden & faculty-in-charge. A recreation room with TV, Newspapers & Magazines facilitate the students to relax.

In the event of an emergency, instant medical care is provided through a tie-up with nearby reputed hospital. Annual hostel day celebrations are a treat to watch as a culmination of hostellites experience.

Library: College has a state-of the-art Library with a collection of more than 30000 books, 250 technical journals (69 Indian and 167 International), 3300+ CDs, 300 DVDs, etc.; Library is located in Annex Block-II of the college building occupying an area of 800 Sq meters. Entire document collection is computerized using Libsoft package. Library has a server and 10 client PC's. The databases of Library are accessible to the PCs in the campus through LAN. Accessibility means you can conduct search on any subject and make reservations using individual ID and Password Specialist librarians are on hand to give you specific advice and guidance on any particular subject.

Parking: The journey to the college is most vital for every student. It's during this time that the temperament is developed for the day's learning. However, any inconvenience in shuttling can have a negative impact. Realising this fact,GAT offers the most comfortable and convenient transport facility for its students. The institutions has a robust transport system with a fleet of buses operating from the campus. They facilitate ease of conveyance for both students and staff. Training & Placement:

The GAT placement cell has been established on the campus since 2001 and is being effectively managed by a placement officer and its staff. One of the prominent commitments of GAT is to make dreams of all its students come true by placing them in companies of their choice. The placement cell makes every effort provide challenging career opportunities to students by constantly monitoring the dynamic changes in the requirements of the industries and accordingly address the needs of the students. The placement officer heading the placement cell, contacts corporates and industrial houses regularly, by visiting personally and sharing the institution profile as well as student profile of all eligible pre-final year students from its database. The placement cell interacts with reputed organizations with much zest in seeking and sequencing campus interviews for placement of final year students. In order to provide more placement opportunities to our students, off-pool campus placement drive co-ordination are also done by establishing good network with placement officers of other institutions. The placement officer with the support of department placement coordinators and student coordinators interacts with all pre-final students every month about the placement calendar of events in addition to answering all the student queries related to placement activities. Each on-campus placement drives creates a ripple effect on the growth of placement.

Inspite of stringent eligibility criteria set by various companies, we are proud of achieving 100% placement for all eligible students through sustained efforts. Our Placement Services work with a multi-pronged strategy – Incampus recruitment, Off-campus enrolment, Pooled campus drive and Alumni referrals, thus leading to our success story. It is heartening to note that many of our students have multiple employment offers as well as their dream offers like dream company and attractive salary package. With a strong team of facilitators, a series of student enablement training programs are conducted beyond curriculum. The training wing mainly concentrates on working out an action plan for students, according to the demand of corporates, which is not included in the regular syllabus. The training caters to sharpen the students’ communication & interview skills. An, 60 hour exclusive training is administered covering English Language, Verbal Aptitude, Numerical & Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, Group Discussions, Mock Interviews, Personality Development to all pre-final year students through its training partners. Further, the respective departments arrange domain specific placement training to its students regularly. Department placement coordinators assist campus interviews and training programs. Additional online tests are also administered through the campus course management system. As value added services, the Infosys campus connect technical training program is offered to all final year students during the vacation period under the train the trainer program initiative, through our CSE department staff trained by Infosys Technologies. Students also undergo special training before each company comes in for recruitment in co-ordination with the respective departments. The institute has instituted a transparent feedback mechanism and follow-up action involving industries, parents, students and faculty leading to significant growth year after year.
