Eligibility:
For BE:
- To be eligible for admission to the first year of the B E course the students shall have passed the two year Pre-University examination (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board
- Pass in all subjects of final Examination of the 10+2 years course of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a subject of study
- Any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto.
- The applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC /12th Std OR equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry /Bio-Technology /Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects irrepective of the marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes,Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (category-1,2A,2B,3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility is 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination
- The holders of the three year Diploma granted/awarded by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, or of any other Diploma qualification considered equivalent thereto is eligible only through CET allotment for admission to III semester/2nd year of B.E. / B. Tech. in appropriate branch of Engineering /Technology. Such a candidate shall have to clear prescribed bridge courses. The minimum qualifying marks for admission is 45% in final examination of the 3 year Diploma course.
Facilities:
Classrooms: Teaching is an interactive and enlightening experience between teachers and the students. This requires serene, and refreshing atmosphere. Our Campus meets these requirements more than the required.
Hostel Facility: The Institute provides separate hostel facility for boys and girls. Both boys (Capacity - 670) and girls (Capacity - 270) hostels are located within the Campus along with live-in designated Hostel Wardens. Delicious food with steam cooking facility is available to the in-mates on a dividing basis in a well maintained hygienic mess. Round the clock electricity and water facilities are provided.
Central Library: Library being an important facility of the Institute has about 24,250 volumes covering all the four branches of engineering. About 80 National and International Technical Journals and periodicals are being subscribed. The library books are housed in two separate sections, one is the Lending Section and the other is Reference Section. Digital Library Section is available for advanced study. Book Bank facility is also available for the needy students.
Sports & Cultural Activities: Keeping in mind the all-round development of the students ample opportunities are being provided to the students to exhibit their cultural talents and sports capabilities. The annual day which is celebrated every year sets the stage for the extraordinary students to showcase their talents. Like minded students are brought together under different clubs like music club, literary club, hobby club etc. The Institute has well maintained cricket and volleyball playgrounds along with atheletic tracks. Facilities are available for indoor games like carrom, chess and table-tennis too. The Institute students have represented the University in various events and have brought many laurels to the Institution in zonal and State level competitions. Yoga and meditation classes are conducted for interested students.
Transportation Services: The institute has a fleet of vehicles plying between Sankeshwar, a near by town at a distance of 7 km, and the Campus to help the students commute from various parts of this region.
Placement:
The Training & Placement Cell @ HIT-Nidasoshi facilitates the process of placement of students passing out from the Institute besides collaborating with leading organizations and institutes in setting up of internship and training program of students. The T & P Cell liaises with various industrial establishments, corporate houses etc. which conduct campus interviews and select graduating engineering students from all disciplines. The T & P Cell provides the infra-structural facilities to conduct group discussions, written tests and personal interviews besides catering to other logistics requirements. The placement season runs through the course of the year commencing the last week of July through to March. Pre-Placement Talks are also conducted in this regard as per mutual convenience. Job offers, dates of interviews, selection of candidates etc. are announced through the Training & Placement Cell. The T & P Cell is assisted by a committee comprising representatives of students from the different engineering streams. The committee evolves a broad policy framework every year besides a set of rules which are inviolable. Student members are closely co-opted in implementing these policy decisions.
