Survey of India, the National Survey Organisation of Government of India was established in 1767 and Survey Training Institute (STI) raised during 1967 as Human Resource Development Institute within Survey of India under the technical assistance from United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).   Now it is recognized as the prestigious training institute to impart training in the fields of Geodesy, Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing, Cartography, Digital Mapping & GIS and Topographical Survey & Land Information System & GPS, Digital Image processing.   The M.Tech/M.Sc.Degree shall be conferred jointly by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping, to candidates, who are admitted to the programme and fulfill all the requirements for the award of the Degree.

Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping (IIS&M), Survey of India, Hyderabad is a premier institution for imparting training and education in the field of Surveying, Mapping & other related subjects. IIS&M will conduct post graduation course of M.Tech. (Geomatics)  and M.Sc. (Geospatial Science & Technology) in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), Hyderabad.

About The Course: M.Tech. (Geomatics) and M.Sc. (Geospatial Science & Technology) courses of two years duration consisting of 4 Semesters will be conducted at IIS&M and the degree will be conferred jointly by IIS&M and JNTUH, Hyderabad.

Eligibility:

M.Tech. (Geomatics): Candidates sponsored by Central / State Govt. Organizations or Public / Private Institution must be a B.E. / B.Tech. / A.M.I.E. or equivalent in any branch of Engineering or M.Sc. degree in Mathematics / Physics / Computer Science / Earth Science / Electronics with two years experience in Surveying / Mapping / GIS / RS.  They have to appear before a Screening Committee at Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping, Survey of India, and Hyderabad for their selection.

Private candidate must be a B.E. / B.Tech. / A.M.I.E. or equivalent in any branch of Engineering or M.Sc. degree in Mathematics / Physics / Computer Science / Earth Science / Electronics with Mathematics as a subject at Graduation level and has to appear for an entrance examination to be conducted by JNTUH.  Those candidates who have appeared/appearing for the qualifying examination in current session can also apply subject to submitting the successful certificate during admission.

M.Sc. (Geospatial Science and Technology): Candidate sponsored by Central/State Government Organizations or Public/ Private Institution must be a Science Graduate having Mathematics as a subject at least at Plus 2 / Intermediate / Higher Secondary Level and minimum two years experience in Surveying/ Mapping/ GIS/ RS. They have to appear before a Screening Committee at Indian Institute of Surveying & Mapping, Survey of India, and Hyderabad for their selection.

Private candidate must be a Science graduate having Mathematics as a subject at least at Plus 2 / Intermediate / Higher Secondary Level and has to appear for an entrance examination to be conducted by JNTUH. Those candidates who have appeared/appearing for the qualifying examination in current session can also apply subject to submitting the successful certificate during admission.
