Eligibility:

For B.E:

1. Candidates seeking admission to the first year of the four year B.E., degree should have passed the two years of pre-university examinations (Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science as optional subjects) conducted by the Pre-University Board of Karnataka State or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University and should have obtained not less than 45% marks in the optional subjects.
2. Candidates seeking admission to second year of the four year B.E., degree must have passed the three year Diploma course conducted by the Board of Technical Examination of Karnataka Government in the respective Branches/Courses or any other examination recognized as equivalent by the Visvesvaraya Technological University.
3. In case of candidates belonging to SC/ST & Category I/II/III (Karnataka students only), the minimum percentage of marks shall not be less than 45% in the optional subjects as per rules. Admissions will be according to reservation policy of the State Government.

Note: The eligibility criteria mentioned above may change from time to time. The candidates seeking admission are required to check the eligibility criteria before seeking admission.

For MCA: The candidates shall have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidate belonging to SC/ST and any other groups classified by the Government of Karnataka for such purpose from time to time the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.

Government seats and Management seats in colleges shall be filled as per the Government order issued from time to time in this regard.

For M.Tech:

1. Admission to the Master of Technology (M.Tech.) course shall be open to all the candidates who have passed B.E., / B.Tech. Examinations (in relevant field) of VTU or any other University / Institution or any other examinations recognized as equivalent thereto.
2. Admission to M.Tech. Course shall be open to the candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying examinations with not less than 50% of the marks in the aggregate of all the years of the degree examinations. However, in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST and Group I, the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examinations shall not be less than 45%.

Facilities:

Library: The College Library is a gateway to a world of Information. The Staff and students have unlimited access to a wealth of Information found in resources like books, magazines, Journals, Hand Books, Annual reports and the Internet. In addition, the library offers specious seating arrangements and a calm ambience for learning. The Central Library is available for the use of all members of MSEC. Its Working hours are 9.00am to 4.15pm Monday through Saturday. Newly arrived journals and Magazines cannot be issued out of the Library before a specified period. All Journals, magazines or Newspapers subscribed by the Library are not being issued before the period specified on the item.

External users from other Institutions or College are allowed to use the Library on a Letter from their Institution or College. External users are not permitted to issue Library items. Other Visitors to the Library may use it provided a staff member introduces them to the Librarian. The Concern Staff member is responsible for the Visitor. Externals users and visitors are allowed to use the Library only during office hours. During Normal Working hours the Librarian & other Library Staff will assist the users. They will also assist in obtaining necessary reference material for individual users. The Library will provide necessary service to obtain personal subscription or book purchases for faculty and Students.

• Library is a place of Individual study, Library members should maintain an atmosphere of dignity, peace and silence within the Library.
• When you entering the Library, should enter your Sign in the Usage Register.
• Talking is strictly prohibited in the Library.
• Borrowing materials without a valid Library Identity card number is prohibited.
• Not permitted to use another Library Identity Card.
• Students must take care of Library Materials and must not deface then by underlining, writing or drawing in them by removing any part of
• Do not reshelf books, periodicals etc., leave them on the tables properly after use.
• Absence and illness excuse are not acceptable for exemption from paying an overdue charge.
• The cost of replacement with double amount will be charged to the person for loss or damage the library materials.
• Eatables are not allowed in the library Cell phones are to be set in the “OFF” or “VIBRATOR” mode prior to entering the Library.

Hostel: The College has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls and is equipped with all modern amenities.

Boys Hostel: Boy’s hostel is located in the campus. The hostel rooms are very spacious & well furnished. The hostel has a Intake capacity of 300 students. The hostel has been monitored by Security personnel 24/7.Warden & some Senior Faculty Members reside on campus A Senior Medical Practitioner is available on campus 24/7 to render medical help to the students.

Girls Hostel: Girl’s hostel is located in the campus. The hostel rooms are very spacious & well furnished. The hostel has a Intake capacity of 100 students. The hostel has been monitored by Security personnel 24/7.Warden & some Senior Faculty Members reside on campus A Senior Medical Practitioner is available on campus 24/7 to render medical help to the students.

Transport: The College has a well scheduled transport system. We operate 20 buses from different parts of Bangalore. About 1500 Students and 150 staff have been using the facility. In addition to the reqular buses, one shuttle service bus has been provided from Sadahalli Gate to College and back, free of cost to help the students to reach on time.

Placement:

The Training & Placement Cell at MSEC aims to inculcate among students, the skills required by the industry. The training is a combination of learning and executing. Training for the students start right from the 1st Semester of their course, which includes Aptitude, Technical and Soft Skills. A separate curriculum is designed for training, as per the students’ needs. Experts from various sectors are invited to the campus to interact with students and keep them updated about the recent trends in the industry.

The Objectives of Placement

• To assist students in streamlining their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions.
• To upgrade the students’ skills as per the expectations of the industry and to provide resources and conduct activities to facilitate the career planning process.
• To establish state of the art in-house training facility for honing the skills of the students.
• To work with faculty members, department heads and administration to integrate career planning and academic curriculum as well as coordinate Project Work/Summer Training/internship programs.
• To assist in the placement of students in different companies, for summer internship after the sixth semester.
• To organize Campus Interviews and assist in the placement of final year students in Corporate, Industries and Business house of rebutting & identifying suitable potential employers.
