Eligibility :

BDS : No candidate shall be allowed to be admitted to the Dental Curriculum of first Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course until :

• He/she shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December, of the year of admission to the BDS course.
• He/she has passed qualifying examination as under : The higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years study, the last two years of study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology or any other elective subjects with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on education.

Eligibility for other than Karnataka State Students :

• The candidates who come from outside, must approach the Registrar, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore with following documents, for obtaining eligibility certificates for the BDS Course.
• Photostat copies of marks cards of the qualifying examination.
• Date of Birth Certificate as recorded in the School /College
• Challan of Rs. 2000/- (BDS)
• Challan of Rs. 3000/- (MDS)

MDS : A candidate for admission to the MDS course (Master of Dental Surgery) must have a. recognized degree of BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognized Dental College under Section 10(2) of the Dentists Act, 1948 or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Dental Council of India and should have obtained permanent registration with the State Dental Council. Candidates not possessing a recognized Dental qualification for the above purpose should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the Dental Council of India before he can be admitted to the MDS Course of any University in India.

M.Sc :

• A candidate for admission to the Oral Biology course must have a recognized degree of BDS or MDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery/Master of Dental Surgery/MBBS, MSC in either Medical Microbiology, Genetics or Biotechnology awarded by an Indian University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the respective apex bodies.
• Candidate for the masters program should secure the prior approval of his qualifications by the RGUHS before he can be admitted to the oral biology course.
• In case of foreign nationals approval from apex bodies has to be availed.

Criteria for selection for admission : Students for the Master of Science in Oral Biology Course shall be admitted based on the above mentioned eligibility criteria and the results of the interview conducted by the selection committee at the MMNGH Institute of Dental Sciences and research center.
