Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, Allahabad (MNNIT) is an Institute with total commitment to quality and excellence in academic pursuits. It was established as one of the seventeen Regional Engineering Colleges of India in the year 1961 as a joint enterprise of Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh, and was an associated college of University of Allahabad, which is the third oldest university in India. For a short duration of two years (2000-2002), the Institute was affiliated to U.P. Technical University. With over 45 years of experience and achievements in the field of technical education, having traversed a long way, on June 26, 2002 MNREC was transformed into National Institute of Technology and Deemed University fully funded by Government of India. With the enactment of National Institutes of Technology Act-2007(29 to 2007), the Institute has been granted the status of institution of national importance w.e.f. 15.08.2007.

The Institute had begun with offering Bachelor Degree Programmes in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. It was the first in the country to start an undergraduate programme in Computer Science & Engineering in 1976-77. Subsequently, in the year 1982-83 undergraduate programmes in Electronics Engineering and Production & Industrial Engineering were started.The first Master’s Programme of the Institute was introduced by the Mechanical Engineering Department in the year 1966. In all other Engineering Departments, Master's Programmes were introduced in the 1970-71. To add a new dimension to itself the Institute established School of Management studies in 1996, which offers a two year / four semester post graduate degree programme in Management (MBA). The Institute now offers nine B.Tech., nineteen M.Tech. Degree Programmes (including part-time), MCA, MBA, M.Sc. (Mathematics and Scientific Computing) and Master of Social work (M.S.W.) programmes and also registers candidates for the Ph.D. degree. The Institute has been recognized by the Government of India as one of the centres for the Quality Improvement Programme for M.Tech. and Ph.D.The Institute has a very progressive policy towards extending all possible facilities to its faculty members to acquire higher degrees and receive advanced training. As a result, majority of the faculty members possess Ph.D. degrees. The entire campus is networked with 94 Mbps lease line. 

Applications are invited for admission to MBA programme for Session 2016- 17 in the school of Management Studies of the Institute. Eligible Candidates may apply online through URL http://academics.mnnit.ac.in/fresh_mba from 01.01.2016. CAT 2015 scores shall be used for short-listing of candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.

Eligibility:

For B.Tech :

• Candidate should be 10+2 pass with Physics, Mathematics and one of the subjects from (Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology) along with 50% marks in total including all subjects
• JEE (Mains) Rank

For M.C.A. :

In addition to eligibility requirements of NIMCET the eligibility given below shall be followed for admission to MNNIT, Allahabad:

• The candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Science or equivalent degree with Maths/Computer Science as one of the subjects in BSc.
• Candidates having an aggregate of 60% marks in graduation are eligible to apply for admission to MNNIT.

For M.Tech. :  B.Tech or equivalent degree.

Admission is given in the following three categories :

• Admission to students who qualify through GATE ( For M. Tech. in Comp. Sc., and M.Tech. Software Engg. there will be an additional entrance test).
• Admissions to college teachers through the Quality improvement Programme.
• Admissions to candidates serving in the Industry, sponsored by their employers.

For M.Sc. :

The candidates having an aggregate of 60% marks or equivalent grade in a Bachelor's degree in Science (B.Sc.) or equivalent degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

For MBA:

1. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent of minimum three years duration in any discipline, with at least 60% marks or CPI 6.5 [55% or CPI 6.0 in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) (this may also referred to as Persons with Disability (PWD) category)]. 
2. Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if he/she submits a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of his/her College/Institute stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. However, marks sheet of qualifying examination must be submitted to the office of Dean (Academic) within six weeks from the last date of registration, failing which the admission shall automatically be cancelled. 
3. Applicants should note that the mere fulfilment of minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for short listing by the Institute. 
4. Applicants must have valid score of CAT -2015. 

Note: This Institute uses CAT Percentile for short-listing the candidates for its full time two years MBA programme. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme.
