An Autonomous Institution under Govt. of NCT of Delhi and affiliated to University of Delhi, Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology is a seat of higher technical education in India. It was established in year 1983 as Delhi Institute of Technology with the objective to meet the growing demands of manpower in the emerging fields of engineering and technology with a close social and industrial interface. Over a period of time the Institute has carved a niche for itself, both nationally and internationally, for excellence in technical education and research. Administrative autonomy was granted to the Institute in 1986. The Institute was registered as a Society in the name of "Delhi Institute of Technology" (DIT) on 12th June 1987 under the Societies Registration Act No. XXI of 1860 (Registration No. S-17742 of 1987). The Institute initiated Ph.D. programs in 1989. The Institute is affiliated to University of Delhi for all its UG, PG and Ph.D. programs. From 1983 to till 1998, the Institute was operating from its old campus at old I.G. Block, Kashmere Gate, Delhi-110006. The Institute was formally inaugarated in its own new campus in Dwarka, New Delhi, 23rd January, 1997 by Sh. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the former Prime Minister of India. The Institute was renamed as "Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology" (NSIT) in the year 1997 vide Gazette notification No. D.L. - 33002/97 dated 20.02.1997.

Eligibility:

For Full Time M.Tech. Programme with Scholarship:

1. A candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech. Degree in Electronics & Communication/Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions. OR A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.(India) Exam. With appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E.(India) AMIE(London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.
2. A candidate for admission to full time course must have qualified GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering).

For Full Time Sponsored M.Tech Programme Without Scholarship.

1. A candidate must have passed B.E./B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions. OR A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E. (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi. The preference shall be given to those candidates who are GATE qualified.
2. The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered firm/company/Industry/ Educational and Research Institutes/ any Government Department Or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. Experience period will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. Result till 31/07/2014
3. A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to get admission. The employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course.

NOTE: It is essential to submit attested copy of certificate to calculate the % for CGPA/ FGPA from the concerned University/ College (wherever applicable) otherwise formula as per AICTE guidelines will be used for converting CGPA/FGPA to percentage.

Part Time M.Tech. Programme

1. A candidates must have passed B.E./ B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication/ Computer/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation & Control Engineering from the University of Delhi or equivalent from recognized University/ Institutions. OR A candidate must have passed in the A.M.I.E.(India) Exam. with appropriate specialization /Grad. I.E.T.E. (India) AMIE (London) or any other examination in the concerned branch recognized as equivalent to B.E. degree by the University of Delhi.
2. The candidates must have minimum one year’s full time work experience in a registered firm/company/Industry/Educational and Research Institutes/ any Government Department Or Government Autonomous organizations in the relevant field in which admission is being sought. One year experience will be counted from the date of declaration of B.E. result till 31/07/2014. The candidates will be required to submit a ‘No Objection Certificate” from their employers.

NOTE: It is essential to submit attested copy of certificate to calculate the % for CGPA/ FGPA from the concerned University/ College (wherever applicable) otherwise formula as per AICTE guidelines will used for converting CGPA/FGPA to percentage.

For Ph.D:

• Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline (ECE, COE, ICE, MPAE, IT) Securing 70% or more marks in aggregate and Master’s Degree in Science or Equivalent in relevant area of Applied Sciences & Bio-Technology in accordance with Ordinance VI-B, University of Delhi (displayed on Institute website) securing 70% or more marks in aggregate.
• The candidates possessing Master degree with 60% or more marks who are eligible for Ph.D. degree as per ordinance VI B of University of Delhi may also apply for admission for Ph.D. degree but they will be admitted without scholarship and they will be required to comply with the other formalities of ordinance VI B (displayed on Institute website) will be selected through a written test followed by Power Point Presentation and Interview.
