NIE Institute of Technology, more fondly known as NIEIT is situated in the world famous heritage city of Mysore. It is around 12 Kms from city railway station. NIEIT is situated around major industries such as BEML, Infosys etc. NIEIT is spread over 25 acres of land in a lush and more scenic environment. The Campus has an administrative and academic block with spacious and well equipped laboratories such as Computer Centers, Physics, Chemistry and Machine shop. The class rooms are large and well ventilated. The Library of NIEIT is a knowledge center, with a good collection of text books, Reference books and educational CDs’.

Labs: To instill confidence to reach greater heights and new horizons in the field of Computer science , the department has more than 150 computers of Intel Quad 2 Core and Pentium dual core PCs under campus wide networking with 6Mbps leased line Wi-Fi connectivity and also with an exclusive browsing centre.

To amalgamate the students’ theoretical soundness with the industry the Computer Science division has 8 spacious computer labs and updates the hardware and software environment whenever required so that the users can achieve the present working environment confidently. It is having 4 servers with latest hardware and licensed software such as Microsoft Windows server 2003, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows XP sp3, Microsoft Office-2007, Desktop Campus Agreement (MSDN AA), Xilinx, Oracle 11g Standard Editing Processor License (Oracle), C++ Compiler (Code gear), Multisim, MacAfee antivirus (MacAfee Inc.). Multimedia Projectors, Laser Printers, Scanners, Web Camera, Scanning and Image transformation facilities.

Training and Placement :

The Training & Placement cell has well equipped infrastructure and internet facility, Wi Fi enabled. A large seminar hall adjoining the T & P cell is available for pre-placement talks and seminars. The placement cell maintains a database of all the registered students with all relevant details and information of companies visiting the campus.

The placement cell of NIE IT is run by student coordinators who are elected by the students from all branches. A senior faculty member, designated as Training and Placement Officer, is in charge of training and placement activities. At each department level, a senior faculty member designated as an assistant Placement Officers will coordinate with the Training and Placement Officer and student coordinators in arranging various training activities.
