Saroj Mohan Institute of Technology (SMIT) Diploma Division established in 1999 and was the first private polytechnic institute to be conceived in West Bengal. SMIT Degree Division was established in 2003 with the aim to provide well rounded technical education to larger number of students from all over the country. SMIT is currently operating in a joint venture with the Techno India Group.

 

The institution is approved by AICTE and affiliated with MAKAUT, offering courses in various engineering disciplines such as Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Civil Engineering. The institute is located in the pristine town of Guptipara on the Assam Link Road, Hooghly about 35 Kms, north

 

Vision: Vision The vision of the institution is to provide World class technical education to students in India. The idea is to make SMIT a hub for skill development by strengthening ties with various industries and not just be limited to being a degree giving institution.

 

Mission: At SMIT learning is beyond classroom; students are ushered to gain knowledge through live projects, workshops and seminars. The aim is to align engineering education with the current industry needs which necessitates breaking away from the stereotypical theoretical learning and moving to practical hands on training.
