The Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions (JGEI) aims at promotion and advancement of Technical and Professional Education of highest standard. JGEI was founded in 1993 by Er. Vidhi S. Singh Jamwal – Chairman-cum-Managing Trustee. The other associated members of the group, Shri Shiv Dev Singh Jamwal – Vice Chairman-cum-Trustee and Er. (Mrs) Renu Bangroo – Managing Director-cum-Trustee have also contributed their might for the noble cause.The Group comprises three trusts namely ‘Chanderbagha Educational Trust’, ‘Jamwal Educational Trust’ and Tawi Educational Trust’ established in 1993, 1995 and 1996 respectively.

Eligibility:

For B.Tech:

• Computer Science & Engineering: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B.Tech course. Students who have passed diploma in any engineering trade from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education.
• Civil Engineering: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B.Tech course. Students who have passed diploma in any engineering trade from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education.
• Electrical Engineering: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B.Tech course. Students who have passed diploma in any engineering trade from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education.
• Mechanical Engineering: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B.Tech course. Students who have passed diploma in any engineering trade from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) Longowal or from any other State Board of Technical Education or two years certificate course from SLIET are also eligible to pursue the bachelor’s course in any stream.
• Electronics & Communication Engineering: 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects; Chemistry, Biology, Bio-technology, Computer Science, are eligible to pursue B.Tech course. Students who have passed diploma in any engineering trade from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) Longowal or from any other State Board of Technical Education or two years certificate course from SLIET are also eligible to pursue the bachelor’s course in any stream.

For Lateral Entry to Second Year (B.Tech): The minimum qualification for admission to 2nd year/ 3rd semester of the B.Tech. degree courses is as under:

• All those candidates who have passed the diploma in Engg. Technology in any branch (as per list attached in Information Brochure of PTU) from any Institution of Punjab / other State and have Punjab Domicile with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (for SC/ ST 40% J or equivalent grade point are eligible for admission to various disciplines of B.E. / B. Tech. course. Provided, however, if some seats remain vacant even after considering all the aforesaid candidates, then candidates from outside Punjab who have passed the diploma in any branch of Engineering/ Technology (as per list attached in Information Brochure of PTU) from any other institution in tne country, affiliated to any recognized Board witn a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST 40% ] or equivalent grade point shall also be eligible for admission to various disciplines of B.E. / B. Tech. course provided diploma courses in Engineering £ Technology have been approved by AICTE.
• The candidate must possess a good moral character. He / She must fulfill the conditions mentioned in Punjab Government Notification No. 35/44/95-fT(2]/978 dated 21.3.2003 incorporated in PTU, CET Brochure. He / She must fulfill the requirements laid down by PTU. He/ She is a citizen of India. 10% seats of total intake of each branch are filled in second year out of which 33.3% seats are reserved as management quota which are filled directly by the college. Admissions to all seats are made on the interse meritin qualifying exam.

For BCA: A Candidate applying for the BCA Programme should have passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from any statutory board with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate(40 % in case of SC/ST candidates)

For B.Com (Professional):  At least +2 examination of Punjab School Education Board or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 33% marks in the aggregate in case of commerce students who have passed 10+2 examination and 40% for the students who have opted for two of the following commerce subjects in 10+2:

• Accountancy
• Business Studies
• Economics
• Mathematics
• Office Management and Secretarial Practice
• Principle and Practice of Insurance
• Tax Procedure and Practice

For Diploma in Engineering (All Subject):

• For Ist year: Matric pass from any recognized board. (Maths, Science and English compulsory)
• For IInd year: ITI or 10+2 (Vocational) or 10+2 (Non-Medical) from any recognized board.

Admission Procedure

For B.Tech in:

• Computer Science Engineering: Admission is carried out on the basis of AIEEE rank for Punjab domiciles and for students belonging to other states through online counseling conducted by PTU, Jalandhar. 66.6% seats form the State Quota while 33.3% seats in each discipline are reserved for Management Quota. Admissions to all seats are made on the basis of merit of AlEEE/10+2 marks.

Facilities

Library: Library is the soul of every institution of higher learning. It is the hub around which all the academic activities of the institution revolve. The central library of Tawi Technical Campus is computerized and is stocked with thousands of books authored by authorities on the subject. The intake of books is a regular feature in the library and no important title related to the courses of study is missed. In addition to the course books general books for personality development, general knowledge, handbooks, yearbooks, reference books etc. are also added to the collections. The library of the institution has on its shelves latest textbooks and reference books on management and computer subjects it subscribes to various journals, magazines and national and local dailies. Students have easy access to textbooks and reference books. The environment provided in the library in general and reading room in particular is excellent and quite conducive for long sittings.

Hostel: Students come to Tawi Technical Campus from every corner of the country. The Hostel at Tawi Technical Campus provides such an ambiance that the students feel they are at home. The rooms are well furnished, airy, with attached bathrooms, proper house keeping facilities, telephone facilities and are equipped with a number of other amenities as well. The hygiene and cleanliness factors are the basic ideas that are very well taken care of and best measures are taken to provide very healthy and homely atmosphere for the students choosing to avail this facility. Mess arrangements are made on co-operative basis along with hygienic and good food. Hostel has an activity center  gymnasium, common room, reading room, dinning room with mess, canteen till late hours & other basic amenities like hot water supply in winter.

Sports: Our students are good sportspersons too. They actively participate in the sports activities. Our students have played cricket matches at interuniversity level tournament. We have national level players in our cricket team. In table tennis also our students have won prizes at state level. So we have laurels in sports also.  The college excels in inculcating & encouraging ethos in its students by providing excellent infrastructure. The specialized sports wing includes intensive training by instructors. The laurels and accolades received by the college teams bear testimony to the outstanding performance of this wing. In tune with the objective of all round development of students, various sporting and physical development activities are encouraged amongst students. To enable students to enjoy sports, the campus is equipped with an Olympic size running track, football field, cricket field, basket ball & tennis courts, table tennis tables etc. Sport has an unmatched ability to mobilize and excite people in their millions. Sport matters to most people, but fewer of us play sport or are physically active on a regular basis.

Sports Facilities: The organization provides adequate infrastructural support for all such student-activities which would provide them with physical fitness & personality development and cultivate in them sportsman spirit, team spirit, leadership and talent. There are in-campus activities like cricket, basketball, volleyball, football, track field, athletics and indoor games. Wide participation of students is encouraged. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter-colleges, open, invitation and other external tournaments, sports meet, cultural and other competitions. Besides the indoor games facilities, a high tech Gymnasium is already operational in the hostel to promote physical well being and healthy recreation of students. Many other facilities are being planned.

Canteen: Tawi Technical Campus has the facility of a spacious and clean canteen that caters to the taste of all students. Canteen can conveniently accommodate many students at a time, functioning in the campus. The canteen is provided with modern furniture and electrical automatic cooking and storing facilities, which provides hot lunch, snacks and beverages both to the students and staff at reasonable rates. It is well maintained with efficient service and a take away counter. The canteen remains open on all working days. Beverages of different flavors are served on different days according to different seasons. It is a place where students unwind and relax with friends to enjoy good quality, delicious and healthy food at nominal rates. It is definitely a treat for all students. The college canteen is a place where students congregate to not only eat but exchange views

Transport: A full fledged Transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places. This service is offered ensuring a hassle-free and safe transportation. The College runs  buses for providing transport facility to students from various places in the city. The number of buses will be increased corresponding to the increase in the intake of students.

Placement

The Institute has a full-fledged Training & Placement Cell to look after the Placement activities. The Training and Placement cell provides the official support base for placement of Final year & Pre Final year students. The support services that it offers are in the form of arranging campus interviews, grooming students to face the final test of their knowledge, create and arrange value added Industrial/Practical Training to the students. The institute is equipped with two centrally air conditioned Auditoriums (with a seating capacity of 1200 and 350) for holding Pre-Placement Talk, two conference rooms for conducting group discussion sessions, seminar hall and well furnished rooms & offices for conducting interviews. The Placement Office is fully computerized. The Steering Committee of the Placement cell is headed by the Training & Placement Officer of the rank of Assistant Professor and Industrial Coordinators from each department of the rank of lecturers. In addition to the support staff, four students from each department are contributing as Student Placement Coordinators.

Placement Activities: Invitations are sent to the prospective companies / organizations along with all relevant information to participate in the campus recruitment. Regular correspondence is maintained with various industries. Personal visits by the Training and Placement Officer, to many companies also serves to build and maintain relations with the companies. The cell maintains a branch wise list of industries and encourages students to approach the companies independently in case that particular company does not have a policy of Campus Recruitment. The cell maintains a branch-wise record of all current appearing students in the Final Year and Pre Final Year through the collection of their resumes. Based on the requirements prescribed by the company, the eligible candidates are invited for appearing for the test/interviews that are conducted by the visiting companies. The Training & Placement Cell also maintains a list of past students and passes this list to companies who specifically come for pass-out students.
