Thakur College of Engineering & Technology (TCET) was established in academic year 2001 - 02 with a clear objective of providing quality technical education in June with international standards & contemporary global requirements. The College is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Government of Maharashtra & is affiliated to the University of Mumbai (UOM). All the courses at the UG level, eligible for accreditation (i.e. EXTC, IT & CMPN) have been accredited by NBA for 3 years w.e.f. 16.9.2011 for 3 years. The NBA expert team visited for Re - accreditation of CMPN, EXTC, IT & 1st time Accreditation of Electronics Engineering is completed during 12 - 14 Feb. 2016. Results are declared on NBA website on 27 / 04 / 2016 & accredited for 2 Years. Institute also applied for accreditation of Electric engineering programme (ETRX) as 3 batches are already passed out. TCET is a private self financed linguistic (Hindi speaking) minority institute. It has also applied for the permanent affiliation of 4 programmes EXTC, IT, CMPN & ETRX Process is completed. It is located in the western suburbs of city at Thakur Village, Kandivali (E), Mumbai. It is well connected by western express highway, western railway & the domestic airport.
