University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) was established by Kurukshetra University in 2004 to be developed as a "Centre of Excellence" in order to offer quality technical education and to undertake research in Engineering & Technology. Presently, the institute is offering four B. Tech and four M. Tech degree programs in the technically important disciplines of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Biotechnology and Mechanical Engineering. the Institute is also running M.Tech Program in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Biotechnology w.e.f. from academic session 2009-10. The University has constructed a separate building for UIET with all amenities and modern laboratories, workshop, library and classroom & 6 seminars halls facilities. The University campus offers excellent environment for the overall personality development of the students. Within a short span of time, UIET has earned a good reputation within the state of Haryana.. The institute is also offering Ph.D. programs in various engineering disciplines.
The institute is also serving as a nodal agency for the matters of academic importance like, development of scheme of examination, syllabus, academic plan and maintenance of standards in affiliated Engineering colleges and is headed by Director, Prof. C.C.Tripathi With the hard work and able guidance of the faculty members at UIET these students are sure to become the world class Engineers and Technologists. The ultimate aim of the UIET is to become role model for Engineering & Technology Education not only for State of Haryana but for world over to meet the challenges of 21st century.
It is a matter of great pride that UIET, Kurukshetra University has been selected by IIT, Madras to participate in the MHRD's prestigious project "QEEE: Quality Enhancement in Engineering Education". All B. Tech. students of our institute are eligible to apply for this program.Various live lectures, labs, tutorials, bridge courses, MOOCS etc. will be taken by IITs facultiesin real time and synchronous technology.
