ICFAI Law School Admission Test (ILSAT)

About ILSAT:


Conducted by the ICFAI Law School, the ICFAI Law School Admission Test is known as the ILSAT. The ICFAI or the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India is a non- profit educational society recognized by the University Grants Commission. The ICFAI Law School is located in Dehradun, Uttarkhand. It is a part of the ICFAI University and was established in 2004 with the aim of equipping the young lawyers with the best legal knowledge. It has the approval of the Bar Council of India. The ICFAI Law School offers admission to a five year
integrated Undergraduate BBA L.L.B (Hons) course. Besides the integrated law degree, this institute offers undergraduate Bachelors degree in Business Administration (BBA). The ICFAI Law School is recognized for its excellent standard of education and the modern facilities it offers to its students. The admission to this esteemed institute is through merit only. Every year the ICFAI conducts the ILSAT entrance exam to choose students for its BBA L.L.B (Hons) program.

 

The ILSAT Test:

 

The ILS Dehradun holds the ILSAT entrance exam for the ICFAI Law School. The ILSAT is based on multiple choice questions. The ILSAT is on a comprehensive pattern and judges the students on proficiency in English, mathematical ability, general knowledge and knowledge of current affairs, legal aptitude and reasoning. The ILSAT comprises of five sections each of 30 marks taking the total to 150 marks.

  • English Language-30 marks
  • General Knowledge-30 marks
  • Numerical Ability-30 marks
  • Legal Aptitude-30 marks
  • Reasoning-30 marks

Besides ILSAT, the ICFAI Law Institute also accepts the scores of the LSAT (Law School Admission Test). LSAT is conducted by the Pearson VUE and is an entrance exam especially designed for admission to law institutes in India. Like the ILSAT, LSAT is also a comprehensive exam testing the language skills and reasoning abilities of the candidates. The LSAT is an objective type test based on the pattern of multiple choice questions. In this test which lasts for 2 hours and 35 minutes, the candidate is quizzed on English language and logic and analytic reasoning.

 

The ICFAI Law School also accepts the results of CLAT or the Common Law Aptitude Test. CLAT is a common test for admission to 11 prestigious universities. In this two hour test, the candidates answer 200 objective type questions on logical reasoning, legal awareness/aptitude, English language, numerical ability and current affairs/general knowledge.

  • B.B.A. L.L.B. (Hons) (Integrated 5 years) 

 

Eligibility:


The candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam with at least 50% marks can apply for admission. Candidates holding an equivalent degree recognized by the law school are also eligible to apply. Students awaiting results of the 10+2 exam can also apply for this course. The age of the candidate should not be more than 21 years of age.
